Boardwalk Empire, Series 3 (16th September US)

I'm only going to say this once in here.

If you discuss content of episodes that haven't been aired in the UK, then you will get a nice suspension. If you keep doing it, the suspensions will get longer, and longer.

You have been warned!

No offence but that is a ridiculous rule.

Why not have two threads, that's what they do on other websites. So you'd have a "Boardwalk Empire (UK Pace)" thread and a "Boardwalk Empire (US Pace) one"? And there are spoiler tags for a reason, if someone uses them then surely the responsibility is on the person who hasn't seen it yet not to open the spoiler.

By the time Sky get around to showing it I'd have forgotten the episode.

But not everyone sits watching Anerican showings of everything.

Hence why I suggested having two threads. Not everyone wants to wait two months for them to finally show it over here either so why should one side of the audience (i.e you) trump the other (i.e me).

Have two threads, one at UK pace and one at US pace and then there's no problem is there? If you don't want it spoiled then stay out of the US pace thread and stick to the UK one, simples. Others sites do this and it seems to work rather well.

Besides, you're more likely to accidentally watch a clip or see the title of one on Youtube so are you going to avoid going to that site too?

No problem with the rules but there seems to be so much uncertainty over it.....some threads or posts blatantly talk about unaired episodes and nothing is done where as others it is enforced meticulously.

It's fair for everyone that way.

And on both occasions in this thread, spoiler tags weren't used - hence the (hopefully) unmissable warning.

Oh I, very unmissable.. which is more than I can say for my deleted sarcastic post by Mr Jokester :)

Anyway no time to chat about issues that can never be sorted out because of a blinkered approach to forum moderation ! So i'm off to watch some Boardwalk Empire.. :)

Availability of content shouldn't restrict the discussion. it's like saying you can't discuss a film on the forums POST-cinema and PRE-Dvd/Blu-Ray release because it's certain people are pirating, but you clearly ignore this.

Breaking bad is an hilariously obvious one. Doesn't even air in the UK but people can wait for the DVD to be released and purchase it, then is it fair to talk about it? nope, it's free to talk about in that thread.

Should be 1 rule, apparently it is, but it clearly isn't observed.

Open discussion with Spoiler Tags is the obvious way to go.

Haven't managed to get into this yet due to time issues, is it worth persevering when I eventually do get time? And if so, why?

Yes, why? Because its ******* amazing.

Plot, scripts, acting, characters, soundtrack, cinematography, set design, wardrobe design. It's pretty flawless and like watching the best gangster film for 13 hours, every year.
