Bob!

Before I heard my first rock music in 1971 I was a massive reggae fan and Marley was up there.
I was able to go and see him before he died :)
My favourite track is Ion Lion Zion and theres an interesting story attached to it.
From memory an old producer was playing an old tape while he was having a bath and the tape came to the end (so he thought).
He lay in the bath and 10 mins later this song came on which had been lost.
It was of course an instant hit decades later.

WOW Bob is a legend, where and when did you see him play?

love redemption song, only picked up on bob marley when i heard my wee brother listening to him.

African Herbsman, Kaya, Buffalo Soldier... jeez to name a few is hard as I'm a massive fan and love everything he has done!111 (Especially with LSP)

I first saw him in 1976 at (I think) the Manchester Apollo.
I definitely saw him at Bingley Hall in Stafford around 1979 (!).

That is really amazing, I am green with envy!! Bob died before I was born so I never got to see him perform, something I would have loved to have seen. How were his concerts? I've heard he was a good performer, was there a good atmosphere?

What's amazing is that if you go to Jamaica, Bob Marley is like a god and you hear his music all the time. Not enough kids listen to him these days.

Just remember that when I'm dead you'll go on to see artists I wish I'd seen :D

The overwhelming thing that hit me was that the majority of the audience were white, the atmosphere was superb with everybody dancing in their seats and no, there wasn't a smell of cannabis in the air.
