**Bodyweight bench press, for reps**

Managed 10 reps, 11th had to be spotted at 92.5kg

We took it a step further

After you do your body weight reps, take 5kg off go again. Once you need assistance, take a further 5kg off, rinse and repeat down to 45kg

Managed to get to 32 reps total. So much fun, so much pump.

Thread resurrection.

My gym is doing this comp until the end of the week.

Any tips as I have never done this before. (this weird cardio thing)

1st question: I weigh in 97kg at the moment and they would round it down to 95Kg for the bench, however if i weigh 97.5 they would round it up to 100Kg.

Do I cut my calories for the next 2 days to ensure I stay on the 95Kg or load up and go for 100Kg ?

2nd question: I was thinking the best way is to go for bounce of the chest reps and do them as quickly as possible ?

3rd: What benching position should I use ? As I normaly only go into the powerlifting position when I do 1 rep max.

4th: Warm up set - just do the Bar for 20 reps - 3min break and go for it?

I won the comp last year in the summer doing 60Kgs as many reps as possible and was in the 50 rep range (can't remember the exact figure but I did post it somewhere in the sports section).

The current leader has done 28 reps with 92Kg. That just seems impossible for me to come anywhere close.

My 1Rep Bp is 160Kg. And my normal routine is: 30 reps bar / 20 reps 60Kg / 10 Reps 100/ 6 Reps 140Kg x 3 sets.

Now on my 100Kg warmup set it already feels heavy and I don't think I'd be able to get many more reps out.

Any advice is appreciated.

hadn't seen this before. I'll give it a go on saturday. I weigh about 80KG, reckon I should be able to do about 20 reps of that

I'm 90KG at the moment, I've not actually benched more than 85 x10...

Will give this a go tonight! should be interesting!

I'm 99kg at the moment and you won't be getting a single rep out of my banged up body, maybe next year.

I wouldnt bounce the weight off your chest, when I did mine I tried not to rush them, took it quite steady, but let the weight come down to chest faster then I normally would.

I've managed to do 23 reps @97.5Kg.
My trainig partner did 18 Reps @95kg.

This put me into 4th place at our gym. 1st place went to one of the owners doing 36 reps @100Kg.

I've more or less just pushed 20 out in one go then did another 3 reps with 3 sec pauses in between.
