Well, after I posted my last thread the boiler man came out, serviced the boiler and managed to give the fan a good clean etc.

The missus told him that we thought it might be the fan, funny how just 2-3 weeks after he came it does finally go. Cynical you think? Missus paid him cash and he said he ahd run out of service records, we still haven't had one  Just seems dodgy.

Anyway, quoted £130 to replace the fan, £100 for the fan and £30 to fit.

I phoned the people that made the boiler and they said £80 for the fan.

Here is my question: How difficult is it to fit the fan yourself?

Is it like fitting a new fan to a PC case, just fit it, connect the power and off you go or is it really worth spending £30 plus for some guy to come and do a 10 minute job?

Unless you have a corgie certificate I'd pay someone who does. Not worth gassing your family to death!

Fans aren’t practically hard to fit (I’ve seen my dad do them, he’s CORGI registered) Get it done properly and get a corgi registered guy to do it.
