Boiler needed

Vaillant.

Can't fault them.

Do you need just a boiler or flue, stat, etc.

Look at Vaillant EcoTec Plus 824 & ecoTEC Plus 831.

Got 824 here running 10 radiators, had it, must be 8 years, worked flawlessly.

Will need flue and stat would like that to be included in the 1k for the boiler but won't mind if have to pay a little more to include them.

I have heard good things about Vaillant so was looking more towards them and also Worcester.

You can get boiler packs, has boiler, flue ( Vertical or Horizontal) & timer.
Digital timer better than the mechanical one, even better is the the Vaillant VRT350F Wireless Programmable Room Thermostat, it's great comprises of two parts one plugs in to boiler, other goes on wall.

Might find cheaper if you google, have a look at Quidco, Topcashback, might be able to save a few pounds.

I presently got a 824 heating a small 3 bed house with 10 radiators, last house had a 831, which was slightly more powerful combi output 31Kw compared to 24Kw.

If your house is large, there is a even larger boiler, the Vaillant EcoTEC Exclusive 832 Boiler, only through PlumbNation.

Remember though, the larger the (kW) output you select, the greater the hot water delivery.

But, in most situations, either a 824 or 831 would be the ideal choice, & a bit cheaper.

Valiant 831 fitted in my house about 3.5 years ago - its been faultless - running 11 radiators. I also have a Grohe 1000 mixer shower (fed by the boiler) and its fantastic.

I would recommend you also fit a Magnaclean.

Got the plumber who is fitting it coming out tonight to check it all before ordering.

If you go to your local plumbers merchants they'll probably do you a better price than online. Most merchants make next to nothing on boilers anyway so most will be similar priced.

Like budwozza says make sure you fit a Magnaclean or equivalent on it. If you currently have old rads & pipework on there probably best to get your system powerflushed as well, all that will happen is the crap in the rads/pipes will clogg up the boiler pretty quickly.
