Boiler quote - What price should I be looking at?

Just been quoted 1800 quid to replace our 15 year old Myson Apollo with an ideal logic combinationboiler in our 3 bed semi, this includes all the works and a 5 year parts and labour warranty.

He also quoted 2100 for a valiant boiler with same warranty.

Any thoughts on the price or the brands?

Prefer the Valiant, had them at the last three places, the present on I've had ten years, never broken down, been superb.

I have a Worcester 42 CDI in my house and it has been really good up to now no issues with it.

Had a flyer through the door for £400 off so British gas must be short on boiler sales, or they have jacked up the price first.

Generally speaking, BG normally quote £1K-£1.5K more than what our company quotes, for domestic heating work with exactly the same components (Bosch boilers etc). Going on what our customers (the public) tell us.

BG have all the adverts and other fancy stuff to pay for, so load it into their quotes.

How they manage to get away with it in these modern 'internet' days is amazing!
