Boiler scrappage scheme launched (£400)

I assume you still have a hot water tank elsewhere then? ie: It's not heat on demand? Is yours one of these super efficient condenser ones?

Yeah we do, I assumed that was probably why. Hot water tanks all the way tbh. It's big enough to have about 3 showers at once if necessary and you don't get the stupid sudden heat and pressure loss if someone decides to use sme hot water elsewhere when you are having a shower that you do with the heat on demand boilers. The hot water tank is in the middle of the house too so any "waste" heat just warms up the rest of the house.

Spoke to our kitchen fitter last night, and the first thing he pointed out was the option of getting the old boiler out of the kitchen and putting it the other side of the wall in the garage. He said he'd done this in a job recently and it had worked out for the boiler and fitting around £2000ish.

He recommended one of the Worcestor regular concdensing biolers. eg: http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/homeowner/products/gas-boilers/greenstar-30cdi-regular

So for £2000, to get more/better room in the kitchen, and to have it done while the kitchen is being gutted is tempting. + If we can also get £400 back, and save £100-200 a year on gas, it sound a good thing to do.

I hate the goverment. Their bloody retarted at what they do..
They're also trying to change all the fag packs to bland grey ones. While spending over 1million a year on trying to stop counterfit products hitting the street. While this plan will make that easier.
God the goverment fails.
