Boinc software?

Has anyone got any older copies of the boinc software about? I've tried 5.4.11 and 5.4.13 but they both crash xp

Why do you want older version I thought the newest version were designed for XP?

From what's on the download page now those would appear to be quite old versions - however if it's even older you want then something in the page below should float your boat

Cheers rich, i'll download a couple and see which one is stable. I had an older version running on win 2000 for 3-4 years no problem, upgrade to xp with the new versions and i've ran into problems

I'm using 5.8.8 with XP and haven't had any problems. I don't recall having problems with any of the BOINC releases though.

Any reason why you want an old version instead of the latest release?

ah i might of cracked it, i think windows defender was defending xp from the the threat of seti. I've disable it and will report back

I've taken it off my systemas the auto-update would either crash the PC or fail to install. There are much better progs out there: Adaware, Spybot or AVG.

The problem I seem to have with latest Boinc was that WU in SETI would take hrs to upload results & I'd be down to 1 WU before new work fetch, though setting would be for 4-6 days.
I hope yr prob is solved.
