Bold txt in windows always Orange!

Posting this on behalf of a friend, can anyone direct me as to how this has happened/ can be changed? basically all his bold text is orange lol, he says hes just installed Windows and its like this. Any comments appreciated!
 
Dodgy copy of Windows :p (Some of them like doing stuff like this)
Should be somewhere in the Color and Appearance part of the display properties though.

Ah, thats not Windows per-se :) (I thought you meant Window titles) The creators of dodgy copies like altering things though- I've seen one where all the Windows properties text was in Thai :eek:

Not sure whats causing that off the top of my head, but I'd try a different browser.
Thinking about it though, could it be something in the Google preferences- Seems to be highlighting his search keywords?

Isnt just in the browser, its everything, and anything in bold.
 
In that case, we need a better screenshot (Something other than the browser) with what he's seeing highlighted :)

You could try the standard virus/ malware scans, but we need a better idea of precisely what is and isn't happening. Definitely have a play in the display properties, sounds like something could be amiss there, but we're shooting in the dark really.

Also, try clicking this bold text (Anywhere, obviously something that isn't a link to start with)- Does it launch a browser window or anything?

Ive seen a pic of some bold txt in AVG in orange but other than that, I dont know, he say its everything bold thats all I know. Probably changed something silly not realizing.
 
I don't see anything out of the ordinary there other than whats already been posted :confused:
IIRC (Haven't had it installed for a while), the Zone Alarm alert text should look like that. I don't know about the AVG text, but again that doesn't seem too out of the ordinary.

All I can really see is Google highlighting the search keywords as designed- Sure you're not just not used to the way things look ;)

You need to resize that pic! It's huge..

Try this Internet Options > Colours > Use Windows Colours

 
Sorry about the pic, and leezer3 all the bold and highlighted text is orange that's my problem lol, it's normally black. And that had no joy andrew, it's not just IE/firefox it's all of windows.
 
Never saw any issues prior to 7.12, so presumably if this is what it is, then 7.11 should be fine. As I said, it's not particularly common, but it has been seen.
