Bollards 1, drivers 0

I think the problem is that people can see cars parked the other side of the bollards so think they're ok to drive on.

I'd love to see that council get taken to court for criminal damage

I don't see how it is any different to the council hireing a thug with a baseball bat who tells people that drive through there that he'll smash their cars up and then does it, you can't justify those actions on warning people.

Why? If people are stupid enough to ignore signs, rules & regulations, then this is exactly what they deserve

Bwahahaha. Owned.

Might have to go take a wander up there and see if I can witness it first hand :p

I actually saw the black honda (first one in the video) hit them a couple of weeks ago, and I've got pictures on my phone to prove it :D

In all honesty though, I was suprised by how fast those bollards come up!!!

Yep, people ignore signs. Lets smash their cars up and injure the passengers. Good thinking.

Do the people's kids (and their friends) in the back deserve to be hurt? And a jolt like that could seriously injure a baby, they aren't designed for that amount of force.

The video was funny until I watched the first driver's reaction again then I realised how dangerous these things could really be.

thats shocking really, and you can be sure that the local council are hiding behind some poxy by law theve just invented to save there skins.

what next?? landmines as opposed to keep off the grass signs??
totaly over the top, if they were that worried theyd use the camera on the junction to catch number plates and issue fines.

It's very likely that all the drivers know there are bollards there, they're just trying to get around them by being "devious" and tailgating busses. It's the driver who is being reckless by basically trying to be clever. Any injuries to people in the car would be entirely the responsibility of the driver.

I'm waiting for someone to sneak upto them at night with a heap of thermite and see what chaos happens when they have been welded in the up position :p probably would be removed in double quick time :p

(not giving anyone ideas by the way....)

Can't say I have much sympathy with any of them tbh. Some people, like the woman in the silver car, are deliberately trying to circumvent the rules and tailgate a permitted vehicle through, in which case they deserve everything they get. The rest of them are simply the type of ignorant idiots who think traffic rules don't apply to them. It's not a case of missing the road signs, it's a mentality some people have that the rules of the road just don't apply to them and they'll drive and park where they like regardless of signage. If passengers should be injured as a result of such recklessness then that's the responsibility of the driver, not the council that put the control measures in place.

No sympathy, these people just have to disobey the signs and then that happens :D

These bollards are appearing everywhere and no one will get anywhere with complaints because they have passed safety audits and are built to standards. :)

Class, the first drive actually accelerates to get past the bollards thats why his cars back end takes off and if he did have a kid in the back then and moans about the childs safety he should have found another way, you can see him floor it .

Is it that much to risk, no insruance pay out, injury etc. to just safe a few minutes.

lol at the white van passenger, no doubt he got £5000 of tax payers money.

You'd think they'd have a sensor to prevent that, much like electric windows... But if you hit them hard enough to cause serious injury, it's not just because you were trying to sneak through, it's also because you were going pretty fast.

Regardless, of whose fault it was, you've got to feel sorry for the guy in the first car when they're sprinting round the car to check on the baby. Ditto the van driver probably concussing himself; don't people deserve sympathy when they've hurt themselves, or, much worse, in the first guy's case, his baby?

The middle one was like watching a roadrunner cartoon or Mr Bean or something. Obvious what was going to happen from the second the clip started.

As I said the guy accelerates to try and get past them, I have no sympathy for people like that.

The fault there lies with the adults who were responsible for the safety of the children and other passengers in the car. Nobody else.
