Bollards in front of your drive?

I think it's kind of funny & no doubt they would have had numerous warnings about driving over a raised kerb. As others have said you can park on your front lawn if you like but it is Illegal to cross a path with No dropped kerb.
Initially they send you a letter explaining this & then i would have thought they would follow that up before going the Bollard route. When i got my letter i phoned him/them & asked for Video evidence of me using it as a drive & explained that the vehicle was only parked there as it was Off the road & being worked on as a Project. He was quite cool after that & just explained the law to me in a friendly way. In my manor it costs around 250 quid for the drop kerb which i think is quite reasonable.
One thing worth noting & something i pointed out is that i live & would have to park on an accident black spot, In fact the only spot in my manor they saw fit to instal a scamera as the accidents were so regular & bad. Parking on ones front lawn should be encouraged under such circumstances not penalised. There is No grass to be destroyed either & i am most conciderate when i pull on & off it :)

daft, i just knocked my wall down , poured a bag of cement on the road in a slopped formation and dive up and park on my grass. Took like 1hr to do. Ill get gates one day.

Wow, this happened at the house next to me. I was surprised that they'd put bollards up in front of their own drive... but it's the council? Ugh.

Why don't they just notify the tenants instead of doing it straight away?

They have been notified, the bollards are only put in after repeated ignorance of the warnings.

Why do the tenants seem so shocked if they knew it was coming then?

"When I woke in the morning I found the bollards in our driveway blocking our car," he said.

"When I came out I was shocked."

Bunch of twunts.

When I was working for Brent last year I actually went around mapping one part of the borough for dropped curbs (among other things) and it's surprising the number of people who just place angled blocks/stones on the road to create a ramp of sorts and illegally use their front garden to park in.

There were a number that we picked up on and they were reported to the correct department and may well now be among those who have been bollarded in!

Although the man I was working with was telling me that if you are unfortunate enough to have a pylon infront of your house or a telephone box etc then you have to pay considerable sums to have them moved when in reality it costs the council fairly little to do so ...

how does the council install bollards outside your house without out noticing :/as far as i remember they have to at least cut/drill the tarmac away.

Because as usual only one side of the story will be widely reported.
This won't be a spur of the moment thing - this will only happen to repeat offenders.

If there wasn't a dropped kerb there when you bought the house then don't expect the council to fit one FOC and don't drive over the footpath.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
