Vodafone and Three have recently started offering reasonably priced, unlimited 4G/5G data, specifically designed for home use.

My question is whether there is a way to bond one of these connections with an FTTC connection?

Bonding no, not without upstream support anyway. You can't just buy a suitable router and magically have bonding work.

Connection balancing should be possible but that's different.

As above, you can load balance pretty easily. If you want a single stream to have improved performance then you need to tunnel all your data back to an SD-WAN provider or DIY something yourself with a Peplink router and a virtual appliance hosted somewhere.

5G routers that aren't consumer junk are quite rare at the moment as well, certainly nothing from Teltonika/MikroTik yet.
