Bonzai trees or other plants

I live in a shared flat where I have my own room with en-suite bathroom. I'm thinking about making it a bit more homely by adding some plants in the window which if I have gotten it right is south facing.

I'm pretty interested in getting a bonzai tree as I like the astetics of them but not sure how they would do in a window so I thought I would ask here for some advice.

Anyone got some other suggestions for nice looking colourful plants that would do well in south facing windows?

We have a cactus and a orchid, both seem to like the humidity and the direct sunlight

Ficus benjimina is pretty bombproof.
Can keep them pruned to keep bonsai sized and cheap as chips.

Orchids absolutely love sunny, humid bathroom windows. If you’re showering daily in there you’ll enjoy plants which flower again and again.

Edit: I wouldn’t bother with a bonsai in a bathroom - too labour intensive! An orchid you can pretty much leave to its own devices as long as you give it a bit of water now and again.
