Book reveals The Stig's identity. Top Gear not happy.

They've obviously gone to great lengths to protect his identity.
My parents recently spent an evening with Jeff Goldblum and he said The Stig never took his helmet off and so he never saw who he was.

You really think he gives instructions from underneath a helmet 100% of the time or more likely the 'celebs' agree not to name him?

Although it's likely the stig is never the same person and they get an instructor in for the day that isn't always the same or collins.

So it would hardly be surprising if he were prepared to breach a contract and cash in his chips - which of course may not be the case ;)

everyone knows who stiggy is anyway, he's the daddy that got bitten hard by a koeeeeniiiiiiggggggggggggssssseeeeeegggggggggggg lol

Like I just said, the celebs don't see who he is, regardless of whether it's the real Stig or not.
My Dad asked him about it all and he said he was flown into the Top Gear track, then given instructions, but his face was never revealed and the production crew went to great pains to make sure it wasn't.

to be fair while many people "knew" it was him beforehand the BBC explanation was a genuine one, he essentially acts as an agent for quite a few drivers, any of whom could have been the stig. With the press now reporting it as certainty I assume the book actually states that he is the stig.

The average TG viewer won't really care. To them its just a random racing driver whatever his/her name is.

Aye, as if any adult watching actually thinks it's anything different. Obviously any kids that might see TG 'believe' in The Stig as a character, but nothing more.
