I've booked a practical test for the start of May (earliest available) but I really need to pass asap really and having to wait another 8 weeks if I fail would be a massive issue so does anyone know if you can book a second test before you do your first?

I was thinking either a week after the first test, or for one if I can find a cancellation between now and then (well when I am good enough for the test). For the latter I don't want to cancel my first booking to book a cancellation then end up with neither!:p

with that attitude you will never past the first.

Also if you look a bit wider and check for cancellations don't think it will be too much hastle, i got a test about 2 weeks after i checked just by updated the website every few mins when i had spare time at work for a day or 2.

Why? :p

I've been driving on and off for about the last 9 months but putting off my test until I now need it. What I do worry about it the fact i'll probably be putting more pressure on myself to pass during the test, which certainly won't help...

That's my plan too, spend my entire time refreshing the website, but i'd like to still have the original test if possible to fall back on. I'm hoping to do a pretty intensive schedule of lessons and family driving to get pass ready by mid april, then try and get a test as soon as possible after.

Unfortunately it's the usual, I've got no interest in driving and been putting it off for 6 years, with 9 months of actual driving, it's just that last little push that's the problem.

No harm in trying to book another test straight after the first, bearing in mind you can't get your money back if you don't cancel within a certain amount of time (7 days IIRC). So, if you manage to get two within a week of eachother and pass the first then you will have wasted £62.50 or however much it is now.

Just book the first, if you fail book another ASAP and stick on the page, I often found tests within a couple of weeks, or even within the same week.

You may as well get it into your head that you will not pass first time unless you're a hot girl :p

The problem is if I book my another test after I've failed the first then that will most likely be another 8 week wait, taking me to the end of June, in which case i'd probably not do the second one as I probably won't be in the country...

Unfortunately i'm really not very secure with the idea i'll pass first time, which is part of the problem. :p
