Bookers / Makro / Costco..

Costco is awesome, just to experience.
Been to it in three different continents :D

Costco is not selective membership. Anyone can pay an anual fee to be a member. However, every store does operate a "trade-only" time, from about 9am til 12pm, where you get a pastry and a cup of coffee when you enter.

Makro is selective membership where only traders can even get membership.

I've mentally gone through everybody I can think of family and friends and I can't think of anybody that doesn't qualify, either themselves or through their partner.

i've mentally gone through everybody I can think of family and friends and I can't think of anyone but my boss who would qualify. Come to think of it, I never worked for any business that would qualify. The fact that my mailman can be a member and I cannot, in a way, almost upsets me. :D

Thats what 90% of people do who aim to shop at wholesale stores anyway makro are by far the worst given they will give you extreme hassle over any returns even if its a day old they will do all they can to refer you to the manufacturer..

As an example i get calls with customers buying Sharp TV's and only buy the TV (so not technically wholesaling) and will have nothing to do with you once you walk out of the store and also will not cover any form of consumer rights as they advise as they wholesale they are exempt from any rights of returns.

I went to Makro last year to stock up on food for uni. Expecting to walk out with bags of cheap pasta, sauces, rice etc, I was surprised to find Tesco was cheaper for almost everything.

They recently gutted the one near me in Liverpool. Closed off the second floor, stopped selling loads of things apparently.

yup the free tea/coffee and pastries for trade rocks :) as does the 2 hours in the morning when its trade only. nice to feel special. also the costco hotdogs > anything from ikea or any other hotdog seller.

i'm sure you can add a second card holder with makro for family etc (i'll need to check next time i'm over iirc you can have up to 12 cards per account

I don't work for the government, nor a bank, nor in finance, nor in insurance, nor am I a qualified professional nor do I work for my airline and neither does my partner. I'm also not a manager or director, nor do I own a company.

Not everybody qualifies.

i'll add you as an associate on my account if you want :) got a costco trade account :)

Is that the one in Kirkby?

I think as a brand its pretty outdated.

Bookers is business only but they don't care if you buy for personnal use.

I know loads of people who lent there cards to family members, but really nothing is much cheaper only large boxes of washing powder.

Alcohol you can get cheaper from supermarkets cos they always have offers on !
