Hi people,

Is there a gadget that will boost poor mobile phone signal in your house?
Ideally not by strapping something to the house but more like a device that will send the data over broadband or over the land line?

Thanks

Oh really? Never heard of that.... I am on Orange but would be good to get a box that ticks all the boxes! great thank you chaps.
When I was on Orange previously they supported Wifi calling or Signal Boost or whatever they called it.

If they still support it and you have a phone with the functionality (think Android/Blackberry/Nokia) might be worth looking into since doesn't need an extra box?

just been onto t-mobile twitter about a signal booster, took about 4 days all in all and their last reply was:

Hi, these are not as yet available for general release. I have checked your area and it doesn't as yet qualify for a signal box. Thanks

looks like i will be changing provider come renewal time.

I've got one through 3 and works great. Indoors I would barely get 1 bar and was constantly getting dropped calls. Unfortunately it took some time to receive as 3 were constantly "arranging engineers to fix the mast", final straw came when I threatened legal action as they were not providing a service fit for purpose.

O2 has one, but apparently it cost £150 and is only available for business customers. There seems to be a lot of anger on the subject. Luckily I am on a contract so I should be sorted.

thought id try my lick today and called T-Mobile, acted like an avg joe and explained i had 0 signal at home (which i do!) and said i saw a box on their website

the guy asked me where i saw it and what it was called, he was acting like it was top secret lol

told him it was called Signal something and he says yes and they are only used for extreme circumstances like area has no signal etc and could not offer me one

looks like il have to wait for renewal date (4 months) and move over to 3 and try get their femtocell box

O2 sort of made these redundant on their network because of the TU Go app.

Which is pointless if you don't have WiFi at home. So O2 utilise your WiFi at home in which you pay another service provider a fee so their Quid's in. O2 is the worst network for service and expensive too. I moved house whilst already in contract with them when I lived in London. I moved to Dorset and had no signal whilst with 3 I did. Phoned and explained and the only option was to buy out of the contract despite offering to give back the phone having been with them 8 years. Why should I pay for a non existing service.
