Hi,

I am wanting to install Windows 7 on my Mac. I have Bootcamp version 3.0 and all the guides on the net talk about installing the 3.1 update for Windows 7.

I have done all my software updates and Bootcamp is up to date but still showing 3.0? I went to Apples download site and there are downloads for 3.1 and 3.2: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#bootcamp

I have downloaded both but they are .exe Windows files?

Can someone confirm what I need to do? Do I burn these both to a disk and run once I have installed Windows? Do I run both or just use 3.2?

Cheers

Instead of me creating a new thread, does anyone know how I can get rid of a bootcamp partition and reclaim the space I gave it? :o

Cheers. :)

I think I know that one! Just go into Bootcamp Assistant and proceed as if you were installing Windows again. On the 2nd or 3rd page of options it will ask what you want to do:
1, Create or Remove Windows partition
2, Start the installer.

Obviously you want option 1 :)

Cool, I will give a try.

Thanks! :)

Aha, think I have found the answer:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3986. Not exactly an in depth guide though. Will burn the files to a disk and run both I think...

You can just run the .exes in Windows, but you have to copy them to the Windows partition, otherwise you get errors. It's a permissions thing.

You can, also, run the Apple software update application in Windows to get access to them, (it sounds like you have, but) be sure to install the Bootcamp drivers that are on your Snow Leopard DVD so can install the 3.1, and then 3.2 updates. :)
