boot error HELP?!

OMG!, what a shed of a computer. started her up fine then the power cable come out of the psu. Then my pc turned off. i switched it back and it come up saying cannot find a certain file (system something didnt record it.
changed CD boot up in bios.
and it will not load my disk!!
why??
it comes up saying press R at first menu of recovery disk!!
it doesnt reach that point of even going on the disk.
WTF can it be!!

Corrupt or missing registry file.

You can either attempt to restore a backup/windows original using the procedure detailed here, or you can format and start again.

what ram for old spec pc ?

just sorted out my pc. thanks for the help.
im unsure what ram my pc takes as atm its got the wrong ram in it.
its a gigabyte mobo with pentium 4 cpu.
ill update you on motherboard when i open the pc up
