Recently upgraded to sata/x64 but i'm having some troubles booting up.
Basically i have a single 80gb SATA150 drive on the primary slot and an IDE controller PCI card for my 250gb IDE drive.
Now i installed windows with the sata drive in legacy mode and it boots up with all drives connected, however if i then put the drive in native mode it just hangs before it gets to the xp boot screen, almost looks like its tryin to boot from the IDE even though its completely disabled in the boot setup.
If i disconnect the ide drive and just have the sata, it boots up fine in NATIVE mode and much quicker than legacy mode too.
The question is, how do i get the quick boot from the native mode without the motherboard trying to boot from the IDE?
Motherboard is an MSI K9aGM2
Sil 0680 IDE card
Incidently... SiSoft reports the drive working at the same speed in windows regardless of legacy/native mode (70mb/s 9ms latency).
