Hi all, basically built a new system yesterday (1st build so a bit of a nOOb to all this), all went well until i started installing Win 7, got to the second stage of install and whole street had a power cut..now when i boot i get the Bootmngr missing error, ive tried changing the boot sequence and still get the same error, even if cd/dvd is chosen as first boot device..if i unplug the hdd and boot again from cd/dvd it starts to load from the cd/dvd..but not while the hdd is plugged in? bios recognizes everything is connected...if i stick the hdd in another system (my old one only has ide connection) and format it and start again, will this solve the bootmngr problem?

Any help appreciated
Cheers

still should be able to boot from cd/dvd ok.

there may be a 'press any key to start windows setup...' screen if you boot from dvd, with a partial install present.

Ive had that message before but booting from CD and repairing the install has fixed it. Bit unusual that its not even booting from CD  I would try formatting the hard drive, wont do any harm anyway and may help out

^bledd.. Nope, just bootmgr missing error, only seems to load if i unplug the hdd..wont boot from cd/dvd whilst its connected...only hdd and dvd connected to mobo..onboard graphics/sound used.
