Hi,

Just bought myself a Dell XPS M1710 and it came pre-installed with Windows XP Media Centre edition, so I wiped this and installed XP Pro as I need to be able to connect to my network domain at work.

When installing XP Pro I did a complete format and re-install, but I still get both OS showing up in the boot menu! I have checked on drive C: and there is only one Windows folder so I assume it is only installed once.

Is there an easy way to get rid of the dual boot menu and just get it to load straight into xp pro???

run>c:\boot.ini delete the partition that u dont want to appear or set the timer to 0. you can also do this in a pretty windows GUI if u prefer in the control panel go to system (in classic view) then advanced and then startup and recovery.

Im pretty sure that XP MCE is XP Pro underneath making the format pointless!but i might be wrong
