Hi guys,

Is it my time for IT issues or what?!

Rebooted my main machine this morning (Windows 7, spec in sig) after running Windows Update. It now wont boot. Gets just past POST and says:

'Boot MGR is Missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot'

I've tried running system repair using the Windows 7 disk but it says it cannot detect any problems.

Whats gone wrong now?! Can't get into the machine at all :(

I had this too the other day Fox. How many HDDs do you have in your machine? I worked out it was after a WU and the machine no longer new which drive was the system, primary, bootable disk. Unplugging my 2nd drive made it boot again.

This happened to me a while ago with Vista. It turned out to be that my phone was plugged into one of the USB ports and the bios was set to try and boot from USB. Unplugging the phone and changing the bios setting sorted it.

Nothing plugged in and a system restore fixed it so I dont think it was a boot issue. Will try windows update again later and see what happens...

I got this after I upgraded last night to windows 7. For some reason it had changed my boot priority to use a different hdd.

Changed it back in the bios and all good again.
