Having recieved my Seagate 320Gb HD today I thought great put in my old pci sata controller plug it in and away I go.

I've hit a problem. The boot sequence starts withe the raid controller sees the new empty disk then moves to the next disk which has my old XP installation!

Is there any way to change this?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The problem in more detail.

The motherboard has a raid controller for sata, a VIA one. This had my raptor and storage disk on it.

When I installed my old Silicon one and put the new drive on to it the computer wouldn't boot.

I looked at the boot priorities and it only listed SCSI and the Silicon one seemed to get preference to the one on the motherboard.

Of cource there is always the easy solution once you engage the brain.

Move the raptor to the Silicon card bingo problem solved.

THanks for the help writing the problem down seemed to provide the answer I couldn't think of before :D
