I had to reset my password in windows 8. So had to set up to boot off usb. But after reseting password and when i try to reboot it says cant detect os I cant get into bios to change it because i cant get in to bios. Any ideas thanks

Well you haven't stated why you can't get into BIOS. And I don't know, it's just a random guess, see if you can boot into the OS with the USB that you used connected. It may have placed some boot files on the USB while you was resetting the password.

Yeah I can't get into bios because soon as I boot it states can't detect operating system I've tryed pressing f2 or delete both don't work. And the stuff that was on USB was jus a password reset programme.

Tapping F11 shortly after powering on (similar to F2 being the bios) may allow you to select an alternative boot device.

You should be able to get into the BIOS though, it sounds as if you're not tapping the key fast enough or waiting on the screen initialising before starting to tap it. Do from the moment you power the laptop on, at half second intervals.

Sounds like it's looking for boot up information from the USB key. Hopefully tapping F8 at startup will present a boot option so the primary OS drive can be picked.

I had a similar problem after "Loading Setup Defaults" in the BIOS on my Laptop (OcUK Professional W550 UltraNote Pro 15.6" ). It's just a case of finding the right key at Boot to enter BIOS, in my case it's F2 to enter BIOS or F7 to select Boot Device.

Hope this helps, keep us updated.

Cheers
