Just ordered a new system from OcUK and am having some boot problems. It's not something I've seen before but basically the fans spin up 3-6 times before they spin up and stay on. Once they're on I still get no video though, and no beeps.

Specs:

Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W)
Kingston HyperX Blu 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C10D3B1K2/16G)
Toshiba 3TB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 64MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA300) HDD
Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK)
Kingston 60GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S37A/60G)
Foxconn H67M Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard

Any ideas?

What have you got your monitor plugged into? The graphics card or the motherboard?

Edit.

Thats if you even have a graphics card?

Yeah no graphics card, it's plugged into the motherboard's VGA.

No keyboard lights but then it's wireless USB and the keyboard's straight out the box so unsure if it's even linked properly!

Yep taken both sticks of RAM out and only put one in at the moment. Also taken both power plugs (12pin and 4pin) out and reseated. Also disconnected the second HDD and a DVD drive that's in there.

Have you switched the RAM to just the other stick too? So you test each stick of RAM on its own.

If that doesn't work, try a long CMOS reset - remove the motherboard battery for a good 30mins and then put it back in and try.

Right, at the moment I've literally got the mobo and PSU on a bit of cardboard with absolutely nothing else plugged in but the 12p and 4p connectors. It's doing the same thing (even without the power switch which is strange?). As soon as I turn the PSU on it spins up both the PSU fan and CPU fan for a second on and off and then after 2-6 cycles powers them up constantly.

Have you tried the long CMOS reset I mentioned by removing the mobo battery for 30 or so mins?

Probably stating the obvious here, but as it's a new system, have you been in contact with OCUK CS yet for help?

No not yet - why would I if it's not broken (which is now looking likely)?

Anyway, just got back from lunch and stuck the CMOS battery in and same problem. Can I be bothered to take another PSU out of another machine to test that!
