hey guys fresh format on pc but still the windows logo comes up and the bottom bar goes through about 7/8 times i have it all set up correct any way i can speed this up?

Cheers guys

I would have thought something is wrong if its doing that straight after a fresh install, unless you have hundreds of gigs of files on a seperate hard disk? That seems to slow my pc down when booting.

Cant imagine it being start up programs because they dont run until you log in as far as im aware.

As the above post says, it shouldn't be this long after a fresh install but it does depend on your hardware too.

Make sure all your BIOS settings are set correctly. CPU and RAM speeds for example.. It might also be worth running a memory test like memtest86+ just to eliminate your memory.. bad memory will impact Boot times

I take it you reformated your OS partition..

ot.. like your sig toy_soldier #fnar# /ot

That tends to take longer on mine!!

Takes much longer on mine to. I find the welcome screen at the start takes a while after logging on but that only happens after installing zone alarms and its only a couple of seconds longer
