Hi, first post, so bear with me.
I have a Geforce 6600GT card, and my machine comprises ECS K8M800-M2 mobo, AMD Semperon 3300, 2*512Mb DDR400 RAM, 500w PSU, one DVD RW drive.
Without the card in place, the machine is fine.
With the card installed, the machine freezes on boot-up; press the rest button, machine freezes again, this time in a different place. After 4 or 5 goes, the machine eventually boots up. After that, the card and the machine display no further problems and I can play all the games I want.
I have updated drivers from Nvidia, updated BIOS from ECS, upgraded power supply, buit the problem remains. ECS told me the new BIOS should fix it and won't help me anymore.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem, and how I could fix it? Is the card faulty? The card is fine for my needs, so I don't want to buy another one if I can help it.
Many thanks.
