HELP

Getting error message on boot up. "no device connected to fastrack controller (Promise) then says Bios not installed. Then it boots up. Worried it may be close to failing HELP..............

Youve given us very little data to work with, but it just sounds like it's trying to boot to the fastrack controller, and then moving on to the next device...perfectly normal.
You should be able to change that in the BIOS, but you haven't said mobo etc or if you have an add on cards.

I am sure I use the Via raid as my controller. This is the first time its happended although I have had problems detecting my hard drive in the past. Are the problems related?

My second pc has a Asus P4P800 mobo also about 4yrs old, on boot up states the same message and continues to boot up in to windows with no problems.

No its nothing bad just means you havent got any thing connected too it, you could disable it in the bios and you wont see it again, nothing to worry about.

Yeah simple as that mate, go into the bios when u first turn the machine on and disable it, it will have a exclamation mark next to it in device manager because you havent installed a driver for that controller.
