Boot windows install from USB

Will be finishing my build tomorrow and have to install windows from a USB. Is it as simple as just having the .iso file on the usb drive and plugging it in?

Not quite. USB drive needs to be made bootable.

what OS are you installing?

W 8.1 and W10 both have tools that you can download which will give you the ISO and then even create a bootable USB stick as well so its all ready to go.

if its W7 then get the ISO file and use rufus to burn it to a USB stick and that will also do everything to make it bootable
