Bootable Recover Program?

Hey guys

Grans has broken her laptop and asked me to get the stuff off she needs. Short of pulling my computer and her laptop apart to get at the hdd is there a bootable usb program i can use to access just her files? i had one years ago but have lost the disk.

The way i would do it is put parted magic on a usb stick and then boot up parted magic and then go to file manager in parted magic and then go to the c drive and then go thru the folders and copy and paste anything you want to keep to a portable drive.

Thanks mate. Thinking about it that sounds like the program i used to have. Ill have a look at it
