Booting issue

ASUS Pro WS X299 SAGE II (LGA 2066 R4)
BIOS Up to Date

Every time I reboot my PC it posts but Windows does not load.
(Actually, that's not true. I think Windows is loading but the monitor and keyboard close down)

My workaround is to shut down and reboot.
Generally on the 2nd attempt windows loads.
MB states Code AA

I feel it is a GPU issue, but I cannot say for sure.

Has anyone else had this problem?

When you say the Bios Battery, do you mean the CMOS Motherboard Battery as indicated on the MB diagram?

I cannot see an option to specify the GPU in my BIOS.
I only seem to have these choices unless I'm in the wrong advanced section.

I can't see anything in the manual I dld from Asus :/

But let's start at the beginning with the simple stuff.

What storage do you have?
What psu are you rocking?
Have you tried using the primary video out port on your gpu? You might need to try each one.
Does your cpu have an igpu? Remove your gpu and try that.
Try a different vid cable.
Reset the bios to defaults and see if that changes anything.

Pull / disable all storage in the bios apart from the boot drive.
See what happens

you may need to disable CSM in the bios, with a older board and a modern gpu with a uefi bios there is a potential conflict between the 2, there is a problem with disabling CSM and it has to do with your drive the OS is installed to, if your partition is formated to MBR then you wont be able to boot if CSM is disabled, you will have to convert/re-install windows making sure the drive is setup as GPT, then you can disable CSM.

its all to do with rebar support on 30 series and up when used in older boards with CSM enabled and windows 11.

you can try disabling it and see what happens but if your pc goes to bios instead of booting your drive is setup as MBR, try to convert to GPT or re-install then disable CSM in the bios.

Thanks for the suggestion. The CSM is already disabled. So no joy.
