Morning all,

I have a problem with my windows 7 install, and was wondering if anybody has had, or knows a fix for the issue?

Every time I turn of my computer, when I come to power back up windows hangs on the start-up screen. Now i can fix this issue by using the windows 7 CD and doing a system restore, however, this is highly inconvenient as some times takes a few minutes.

I have tried running the start-up repair tool, but it either finds no faults, or says "cannot automatically repair this issue, would you like to inform Microsoft (recommended)

I'm at my wits end with it now, And I really want to try and avoid a new install!

Thanks in advance,

Josh

sounds like it could be a driver issue. did you have to install any drivers when you first installed windows7?

No, everything self installed (for lack of a better word)

I've been running this setup for a good 2 months now with no issues.

I thought that the system restore would get rid of anything causing the issue as it puts the computer back a few days ( i think :S) but I have to keep system restoring for it to boot!

How many hard drives do you have installed?

1. Boot up with just the Windows hard drive plugged in
2. If it fails to boot, use the Windows DVD to repair the startup
3. If this fixes it, put your other drives back in and make sure the right hard drive is set as the boot drive in the BIOS

I have 3 all together. A solid state that my OS is on, and two with my games and music ect.

I'll give this a try this now, Thanks!
