Hi all

I have an issue with my PC during boot, It generally won't get past the windows animation 50% of the time. I have to power off and then select boot windows normally when prompted and its fine. It used to be once in a while but now seems to be every other boot up.

No issues at all once booted.

Running an 128gb Vertex 4 on an Asus P8P67 PRO B3.

Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas. As far as I know all drivers are up to date. The ones I am aware of anyway.

Cheers

Hi Richard,

In addition to what waaza has said, which is a good place to start, I suggest you -

i) make sure that you are using one of the native Intel Sata 6GBs ports on your P8P67 and not one of the ports attached to the supplementary Marvell controller

ii) make sure you V4 has the latest firmware level (1.5)

iii) Detach your V4, then clear the CMOS on your mobo thoroughly (I take the battery out and turn it over to short out and make sure the power has been drained). Then reattach your V4. I understand this will cause the mapping between the BIOS and the drive (held in CMOS) to be remapped and Windows to re-enumerate the drive - this procedure can sometimes help with booting issues.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks for that, I do already know that its defiantly attached to the Intel Sata 6gbs. I will check out the other tips.
