I'm on Windows 7 & now for the third time in as many days I'm having to totally reinstal because the Bootmgr has gone missing, Talk about pain in the ****. :(
So whilst the system is working & updating itself I've snuck on here to se if any help is at hand.
What do you reckon guys ? HD dying ?

Symptons.
Boots up past option to get into Bios & then Black screen with Bootmgr missing could not boot etc

Repair doesn't work by the way, Nowt works except re installing, It was fine after a re instal & Full update last night I come down in the morning & Bootmgr missing.
What gives ???

All help is greatly appreciated & Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a faulty HDD. I would firstly download the disc diagnostics utility from the manufacturers website. This normally involves creating a live CD from an .iso file which is bootable.

Run a quick scan first, then a full scan.

If that comes up with errors, then you have a faulty HDD.

Cheers Huddy I plan on doing that if it gets that far, Thank God for my Desire at least I'm not totally cut off. :p

sounds like a silly idea, but have you checked to see your boot device settings to check the hdd is set as the primary boot device?

Alright *****,
About the only thing that was changed after last succesful instal was the boot order from CD first to HD first. It's up & running now all updated & I am not changing owt for now.
I downloaded the HD Diag software & ran a quick test which it passed so i ran the Full fat test & the HD passed that as well. Typical.
Don't you just love these sporadic issues that completely fubar your system. + :p
