'BOOTMGR is Missing' error

I started having similar intermittent issues, SATA ports not being recognised and had to replace my motherboard in the end.

start with firmware update first then see how your pc performs, then try other things later if its still locking up ect

If you can get back into windows, open system restore, select last restore point and see what programs or updates will be affected. It is possible an update may be corrupted.

Okey so System Restore didn't work, but I've just updated my SSD firmware to 070H, so I'll wait and see if it works. Thanks for your help guys. I'll report back later if it didn't work. I'll probably have to try a Windows 7 repair if it doesn't, and if that doesn't work I suppose I might need to RMA :(

It's been working fine all day since the update. Having done a bit more reading it seems like there was a problem with all Crucial M4 SSDs that had done more than a certain number of hours that the newer firmware updates fixed, so that would explain why it's not giving me any problems anymore.
