Getting this message at the post. Assuming my ssd has died, but wondering if any ideas?

Drive is an ocz vertex 2 60gb and was basically just my windows drive and few programs.

Drive isn't detected in bios and have removed it and connected it via e-sata - the drive lights up so is receiving power, but again cannot be detected in bios.

I am taking it down to my brothers this evening to test it on his rig just to confirm, but assuming it is goosed.

That likely being the case, am I better to go via overclockers (purchased January 13th 2012) or directly to ocz regarding a warranty repair/ replacement? The drive is covered by a 3 year warranty from ocz, but given that its within the first year are they likely just to refer me back to the retailer?

PITA as I cant even install windows on another drive just now as brother has my windows7 disc.

you need to put in the windows disc and boot from it,then do a start up repair,do it a few times then it should fix the startup/bootmgr issue

I would do this, but as I say the drive isn't even detected in bios, so would imagine this would rule out a windows repair (once I retrieve my windows disc)?

I have checked the drive again and it appears there are 2 led's permanantly lit. 1 green and 1 red.

The drive wasn't in sleep mode and was used all day yesterday without a hint of trouble and shut down as normal last night.

Are they prone to just fail with no warning signs?
