Bootmgr missing and other issues

Hi all,

I have a big issue with boot up. First it would say that bootmgr was missing, then it would attempt auto repair and give me a blue screen saying auto repair failed and would restart. Then when I was able to access the repair options...

CMD prompt > bootrec /fixmbr ...NO VERSION OF WINDOWS FOUND.

I used CMD prompt to show partions and it shows a partion of 958mg but no version of Windows found.

I removed the HDD to plug into another pc but it didn't recognize it at all.

I can't even format it as it refuses to see the drive.

I then connected a clean HDD to the faulty machine and it wouldn't recognize this new drive (presumably a driver thing?).

I am baffled, any ideas? Tia

Go to install windows on the drive but to see if windows can see the drive. Info will tell you about partitions and stuff. You can then re-install or reinstall over the top.

From what you have said there could be a small chance that the drive is failing.

I hate to say it, but I think your hard drive has died. The best thing you can do is to buy another drive and restore your backup.
