hi all

im trying to get my mates system running, but have forgotten the windows 7 disk. duH!

all i need to do is boot to the start up repair window, but without the dvd is this impossible? is there a way i can use my laptop (running windows 7) to create a boot disk onto a usb pen?? using the files already installed onto my lapotp

any help is greatly appreciated.

the bootmgr is something to do with the partitions on your mate 's pc hard drive. I suggest if you can:

1. Get the hard drive out
2. Attached to a usb convertor i.e. SATA - USB
3. Run a free patition software or use windows inbult partition manager to format the hard drive
4. Copy Win7 onto a USB pen drive, dont enter any key till you get hold of your mates CD copy.

Unfortunately you need the original OS cd. Technically you can download Win7 via BT but use your mates cd-key.

also check the bios to make sure the boot drive is set to the first primary drive.

i've had this with my SSD when i updated the bios it switched it over to my F1 storage drive for some reason.
