Hey,

I have had my new pc running super smooth for under a month right now and early it had it's first crash. Then since then I only get bootmgr missing when I restart it.
I have read some other threads and guides but am still haveing zero luck.

In the bios the ssd win7 64 bit is installed on is not showing up.

When booting from disc I try to do the startup repair but it cannot locate and installed versions of windows. With my other 500gb hard drive unplugged this is the case too. With the 500gb unplugged I tried to do a fresh install but it cannot locate the ssd.

I am really struggling now.

My system is
i5 still at stock for now.
z68 extreme 4
4gb g skill ram
60gb ssd ocz agility 3

Please help ocuk

This was meant to be my one night this week chilling and starting Deus Ex.

This sounds quite similar to the problem i had with my SSD a week or so ago, where by it crashed, and then vanished according to my motherboard!

Almost went for RMA, then I completely unplugged the SSD from power and mobo overnight, reset CMOS and then when plugging the SATA cable back into the motherboard i used a different socket. It appeared on boot and ran as normal. Oh i just remembered i also updated the BIOS

I'm not sure which action fixed it, and maybe it was a combination of them all but try it.

I can relate to just wanting to sit, chill and enjoy your PC instead of endless fiddling. When you get into Deus Ex though you will be absorbed :)

EDIT: if bootmgr is missing and you cant repair, then re-install of win is your only option. So long as the motherboard can see the drive to install onto

Thats the problem I cant get the mobo to see the ssd at all. Otherwise I am sure a boot repair would work too.

How do i update the bios without being able to get to windows?

Cmos reset is the switching off the battery is it not? Edit: (by this i mean taking the mobo bios battery out and back in again after ten seconds)

If you have a lappy you can burn a bios update, or if you have an old HDD (like i did with an O/S installed as a back up) you can update the BIOS with that.

I have tried following a very similar guide of tech geek same stages as the video, and when I get to the repair windows stage it cannot find an active install of windows on the pc because it is not detecting the ssd at all.

So I cant actually do what that guide says, which is why im thinking the ssd is dead.

Like i said mate, i had the same issue, and thought mine was dead too. Try leaving it completely unplugged for a length of time. Otherwise it may be dead :(

Its unplugged now and bar trying the battery has been for a good few hours.

I did not think the ocz agility 3 had any major problems and were quite reliable :(
