Hi All,
Really at the end of my tether now, so here is the full story. I made some stupid moves here so don't laugh too much, any help would be really good tho

okay here we go:

Had vista running but fancied moving over to windows 7

Created a new partition and installed 7

it ran great, really happy with it

Started cleaning up my files and partitions

as some point I started to format C (system drive) by accident which i cancelled quickly.

everything seemed to be running fine but after a shut down the system won't boot.

I attempted to reinstall windows 7 as i can't find my vista disks

No good started moaning about drivers missing

I eventually, due to stress and what not, decided that fdisking the drive might help, it did and windows 7 started to install

Half way through install i get a message saying something about corrupt files.

now when i go to boot i get "BOOTMGR is missing"

now no cd, boot disk or anything will run so i can't do anything

What next guys, can't think of anything else to try. Please help me :(

Have you tried pressing F12 (I think) to select to boot from the CD? If that doesn't work load up your bios and set your CD drive to be the first boot device (above your hard drives).

okay, now its booting from cd woohoo but it now appears my downloaded windows 7 isnt complete or is corrupt or somthing of that nature.

Im going to attempt to download again and burn yet another dvd and try that... seem to be slowly getting there...

If anyone in the salisbury area has a working dvd and wouldnt mind a quick meet and a pint :p let me know

:) Lots of people seem to have had corrupt disc problems with W7. Check you're burning to a reasonably decent DVD disc too.

I would never have thought about dvd quality if it wasn't for you, went out and got some new ones, burnt and everything installed like a dream, I love you :p

Check the MD5 hash of the ISO and this will tell you if the download was corrupt or the problem was with the burned disk. Will save you another long download if the ISO is fine.
