My son installed mandrake 10 onto his external Hard disk and left me with a bootstrap menu system which i cannot get rid of  . please help.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by bootstrap menu? Is it a menu to select an operating system? If so then it is just GRUB or LILO on the MBR. This is fixed by booting a windows xp cd to the recovery console, and using fixmbr.

Although if you do this it will mean he can't boot mandrake (well technically he can but it will require a fair amount of pain).
