Has there been anything in recent years to dislodge Frosty Jacks, Buckfast and Thunderbird from the top of the list?

If one was looking to get obliterated over the course of a weekend but do so on a minimal budget what would they choose?

He's being a *******...ignore.

Just get a few crates of Carking in surely?! Always offers on for Carling, though it is vile.

Last time I got drunk was when I was closing 22.

I had to drink 22 mystery shots. Shots that the barwoman refused to mixed :D

They usually comprised from 1/3 vodka, 1/3 sambuca, 1/3 tequilla.

Counted up to 17, but the 17th one was 500ml worth of everything my mates found.

Never had to abide to a budget though, that and my taste is quite expensive on drinks.

Clubs when I was in uni used to offer fish-bowl cocktails for like 3 quid, that's a pretty cheap way to get hammered I guess.

I think one would learn to be a rather charming gentleman and get everyone else to pay. If however one lacked the necessary twinkle in ones' eye or one had an insufficient range of witty repartee then I would wager a nice bottle of Merrydown would do the trick.

The best way and the cheapest, is to go to a good Polish store and get some mocna strength beer, like Tatra mocne, or Perla mocna. It is cheap but of good quality. 7.5% or thereabouts and is a pound a can round my way. Imported and made properly.

Far better on your tastebuds and far less bad for you than that horrible synthesised 'cider', like Frosty Jacks.

Who's have thought a post that contained Frosty Jacks would be moved to a section entitled "La Cuisine". I guess it doesn't have the stigma attached to it that it used to have.

You have a good point, Frosty Jacks is about as far away from good drink as is possible. :D

Go Polish (tastes good as well).

Wha?! 7.5% beer taste like **** no matter where it's from, and who brewed it.

That **** is ment for the ****** that sit in the park getting wasted all day :P

Thanks for the info PapaLazaru. There's a big Polish community here in Coventry so I'm sure I could acquire some Tatra or Perla.

You will be very surprised if you try it. They just make it good. Tastes nothing like special brew etc. My missus had a pint of it recently (without me telling her how strong it is) and she very much enjoyed it. She is not a drinker and a beer drinker even less so.

IMHO they should have stores where you can buy Polish booze, cuisine and ladies for your evenings entertainment and pleasure. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the only customer. :D

I tried some 7.9% German beer from Lidls today...it was awful.

Fink Brau of the normal kind is OK as far as larger goes, but this stuff was rank. I'd stick with Guinness, but it's over 6 euros a pint in France. So I buy 18 cans of Fink from lidls for 6 euro :D Only 33cl cans, but it's enough for 2 days worth.

You should always start off the evening by drinking the finest alcohol you have. By the time you have to move on to the cheap and nasty stuff you'll be past caring what it tastes like.
