Borat

It's bloody pathetic to put a film on TV and then butcher it by editing all the funny parts out. If you look in the TV Guides, you'll see that the majority of films are censored by the bloody do-gooders these days. Hell, last week they even put out a censored version of High Plains Drifter.

Who the **** gave these idiots the power to dictate what I can and cannot watch in the comfort of my own home?

It's not been edited and bits aren't cut out. The subtitles are just not displaying properly. At the beginning it didn't show subtitles for some of the credits. Think it's more of an error rather than editting.

Did anyone see the advert at the start for 'Bruno'... the new film where he is a gay person?

Looked hiliarious :D

Bit annoyed about them not including the subtitles, but I'd seen it enough to recall the jokes.

£3 at HMV at the moment if anyone's interested.

I've got high hopes for his next one. :)

Film starts, Borat tops himself. Film ends. It's the only way.

Pff. Borat is fantastic as a cultural mirror. As a character he was rubbish until the film though whereas Ali G was a good character but flopped on the big-screen. Bruno (I think that was the name of the gay character) always used to crack me up on the series, so I guess going by the previous example he's destined to fail, but equally he seems to have tapped into a great formula for making comedy.

[paraphrased - been a long time since I saw it]

*walks up to a bunch of alpha-male-idiots with a camera*

Guys: "Wooooooooooo!"
Sacha (Bruno): "Woooo! Say hi to Austria gay T.V.!"
Guys: "URGH WTF. etc."

Funnies.

I hated Ali G & the movie, though thought some of his interviews e.g. Tony Benn were fantastic.

Borat was just hilarious, and the fact that he seemed to pull new material to make an entire movie was good work. I sat through that half in histerics and half with my hand over my mouth.

So that's 1-1 really, I'm not sure on Bruno, will have to say. I'm not a huge fan of the actor though admittidly the only other thing I can think of that he's been on is Tallegdha Nights.

I hated watching it as a film (stopped after 12 minutes), but as short 5 minutes clips showing only certain interviews or incidents, I find some of it hilarious :)
