Slaaaag (obviously!) with slagga/crossfire and try to get the extra pellets from the conference call to hit the back of his head.

You have to do some damage to him (possibly fire) to stop heath regen. Do enough damage to the critical spot and he'll open his mouth. Unload everything into that - lydua works well here.

If you can't get that to work you can try jumping to high ground to get a better angle on the crit points.

I've now got him twice. I didn't bother with slaagga! Nor did I hit the back of his head. I used the Conference Call and a Moxxi fire shotgun (for the healing). I also respecced for the Brawn tree for maximum health with the Legendary Titan class mod and used a reesistance relic. I hung around under the centre platforms for cover and my health kept me alive when he decided to cross the floor.
 
Flippin' eck. Why did Gearbox give the Tales from the Borderlands dev so much power to change the setting? Now I've just discovered that

Scooter is dead!
