Borderlands 2 save file?

I just reinstalled win 7 and now borderlands 2 wont recognize my old save file of 50+ hours gameplay.I put it in the my documents/game saves/borderlands 2 (i copied everything from that folder before the format) but when i boot b2 it only has option for new game.Please,has anyone got any ideas as i dont wanna start again with hitman and a huge backlog just around the corner :confused:
 
Saves should be located in Documents/My Games/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData/[randomnumbers]/{saves}.

There is also a Profile.bin file in the same folder, I don't know if it's required for the saves to work but I would hazard a guess that it is.


Edit: The original Profile.bin is not required, however A Profile.bin probably is, if you don't have one, remove your old saves, start a new game and then replace the newly created save(s) with your old one.

You should have copied the folder with the massive number as it's name.

Or, thinking about it, you could try starting a new game (so it creates the folder with all the numbers) and then try putting your save files in there.
 
Sorry,Dave you were spot on.I was copying the whole borderlands 2 folder instead of putting contents into the numbered one.Thank you very much :)
