Borderlands £4.99 on GFWL

GFWL now sells other PC games without GFWLive same as any other download service but usually offers a one a week special deal like this.

Fair enough, though given this is microsoft... whats the catch? 1 time only download? Limited download duration? You know, the kinda crap that emphasizes why steam will always be better than it...

No catch!

There never ever was a limited download duration.

You have the same online activations before you need to call support as Steam so that's set by the game publisher not MS or GFWL or Steam. So unless you rebuild your PC 15 times the game is going to be fine without calling anyone.

You must use the gamertag the game was bought on but that's the same as Steam where you have to use the same account.

GFWL is actually the quickest place to buy games nowadays as they always max out your bandwidth on downloads as MS obviously have a lot of server bandwidth for this!

Why are they tieing it to your gamertag?

The retail Borderlands doesn't even use a cd key lol
Just Gamespy for the Multiplayer.
For the same reason Steam tie a game to your unique username:rolleyes: This uses the exact same MP with Gamespy its just another service offering a digital download. That's all!

sorry to sound dumb here but i have to activate it 5 times at month or you can activate the title?

Basically im just wondering if i buy the game can i just launch it through steam? Or can i attach it to steam but to play it i need to be logged into that gfwl client?

Anybody got any experience with this?

Thanks
