Borderlands - Am I missing something?

I think I quit after the first part of the game tbh. All I remember is that I had to kill what felt like 8749 enemies whilst making my way to some objective which took bloody ages to get there, and then travel ALL the way back to get my next one. So boring.

Borderlands... 1 of my games of this generation, i had so much fun with it, and the expansions/DLC were great fun (still got to finish off Knoxx) only other game besides ME2 that iv bought all the campaign dlc for :D and i cant wait for Borderlands 2 next year

In need of a new co op game and I've had this before but willing to play it through again.

Quick question tho as I cant remember!

Can four of us play it split screen in the same room with two tv's, two 360's and two copies of the game?

Playing this on-line with my mate over the PS3.

So far it's been pretty forgettable and boring. Doing random quests of collecting X amount of this, go over there to kill some guy etc.. Enemies taking whole clips to die even though they're supposedly our level (16), seemingly re-spawning enemies after an area has already been cleared and travelling back and forth is reminding me a lot of Far Cry 2 which is an utter piece of ****. I'm trying to like this game but so far what i've got from it is;

1) You're searching for some Vault. A look-a-like of Cortana from Halo pops up on the screen now and again to tell you some uninteresting things.

2) Constantly re-spawning enemies, loads of traveling back and forth and forgettable missions.

I know i'm late to the party on this one, I bought it as the reviews I watched were amazing but it's really starting to remind me of Far Cry 2.

Please tell me what i'm doing wrong. :(

This, but I feel the same about Dead Island. To be fair I may not have given it enough chance, but it felt like a glorified suitcase-unzipper-simulator, with some boring melee combat and pointless quests....

Nope. We tried to play 3 player using the same method. 2 on split screen on the main TV and 1 player using the spare 28" TV and my other PS3. You can only play split-screen OR online. Not both.

We ended up bring in a 3rd TV and 3rd PS3 but 1 night of that was enough. Tonne of beers and played well into the morning (my electric bill took a hammering...lol).
Great fun though.

Regarding the game, I loved it.
The quests are forgettable and boring - I agree...but it's ALL about the gameplay. I couldn't give a damn about the plot or the quests as there are a tonne of gamers with plenty of that.

I just thought the gameplay was so fun. The shooting mechanics were spot on, the mix of RPG elements of course made the game for me.

But if you don't enjoy the gameplay then there isn't much else you're going to enjoy in the game.

I also felt Borderlands was boring and bland.

Force myself to play for 3 hours as on paper it was right up my street. I just could relate or get into it, i cant even remember anything about it now.

I have played borderlands loads of times with each character and enjoyed it but it wont be everyones cup of tea just like any game really .

its a shame this game polarises people so well, it must put people off whove never played it before reading reviews etc, but its one of the best games ive played. i really enjoyed the fps/rpg/loot collecting elements all rolled into one

I only played it by myself (LAWL you may cry) which might have had something to do with why I thought it was pretty boring too, although it's one of the few games I've been bothered to finish recently.

I enjoyed Borderlands for the weapons, which is pretty much all it's got going for it, it's fun having a huge stash of weapons to play with and enjoy the various strengths/weaknesses each one has. Although I spent 80percent of the game flying around with a scoped revolver which had ridiculous damage.

Borderlands was a huge let down for me, nice art style and fmv's etc. But the game itself was boring as hell. Find items, go here, kill him, collect more stuff, go there, kill that. Repeat. The vehicles are crap and I just got really bored, really quickly.

Big let down, but if you want something better than borderlands thats quite similar, get Fallout 3 or Rage.
