BF2
cs-s
dod-s

are a few recent games, used to love my FFS but just cant get into anyting at the moment any ideas how to get that spark back, as I have just bought x1800xt and 20" lcd and realy wanna be enjoying my games

if you can get your head around il2 and battle of europe ,the whole history of planes and the air battle becomes a real hobby, just flying around in those 2 games with the freedom to explore the maps is absorbing I find :)

Go without for a while, you'll soon find it fun again. ;) Like missing a fix of heroin. :p

Disclaimer: I have never touched heroin, and don't mean to make light of heroin addiction. Don't do drugs, kids.

I seem to play something for five minutes and then notice something else is out so I get that and start playing and so on...

Half of the games on my shelf I must have never played to completion.

There has not been a fresh original game for ages. I would not bother with a 360 as the games are so similar to what has come before - just prettier graphics.

I haven't played my main game COD2 for ages.. weren't many servers so I stopped, then realised I didn't enjoy it that much and was making me tired due tos taying up playing it.

Pro Evo Soccer online on the PS2 for the win :D

Man, I'm already tiring of Oblivion :(

Started playing Darwinia just for the sake of quirkiness.

I hope I find something that grabs me as much as WoW did, looking forward to Spore :)

i know the feeling of boredom with games....

Until a couple of weeks ago i was playing BF2 to get 20k points and my last weapon unlocks. Now that i have done that, i have hardly touched the game since.

I really cannot be bothered to go for 50k either...far too much like hard work, as the last 2k points upto the 20k was a real chore.

As of know , i just dip into the odd Steam shooter for a 10min blast, and thats about all i can muster the enthusiasm for.. :(

For the first time in years, i really dont want to upgrade my Pc for any games that are out or coming out in the next 6mths.

Maybe Crysis will change that, but i certainly wont spend any money on new hardware before seeing the reviews and general buzz.

Just buy Knights ot The Old Repiblic and just play for a lot of hours :p

No i cant, the problem is i simply dont have the attention span i used to, i just get bored after an hour or so, whereas in times past i'd think nothing of spending 5 or 6 hours at a time in front of the monitor on a single game.

It all seemed so new back then, now all FPS seem to be all the same...cant stand RTS games, dont have the time for MMORPG's or RPG's and bored rigid of FPS.

Thats why im hoping Crysis will reignite the spark

It may just be you getting older in the same way people become less into their music as they get older. Not me though, as I am still a fairly keen gamer for an old guy.

I suspect the problem is not just with you but the rather insipid games that have been released the past year. There has not been a whole lot of wow factor or originality in gaming. Maybe it's becoming more difficult for developers to come up with original game mechanics and concepts. I think more games should put more effort into telling a good engrossing story that would make gamers more engrossed in the game. Some good past examples: Planescape Torment and Mafia which was a well told story that really sucked you into the game.

The only games that I am looking forward to are Dreamfall (coming out next week), Alan Wake, Gothic 2, Neverwinter Nights 2 and that Operation Flashpoint type game.
