bored of gamming help!

I find that playing a game that caters for a different approach (a strategy game over a FPS for example) helps revive interest in gaming as a whole. From here, your enthusiasm for FPS will return after a short while.

Agreed, try something you normally wouldn't touch. You've just gotten into an FPS rut. Take a chance and pick up a few unusual titles that normally wouln't be your cup of tea, but that have gotten good reviews.

I can honestly say I've never been bored of gaming in general.

In the past many years ago I got a bit bored occasionally, but that was artificial boredom in that I was prevented from being able to play the games I wanted (e.g. due to not having a cd-rom drive). I was still very interested in the concept of gaming, just not necessarily the games I had at my disposal.

Nowadays I can buy any hardware/games I want and hence can't see myself getting bored of gaming any time in the next decade. Even if I could give up work and play games 15 hrs a day I still wouldn't get bored.

thing is I have the cash to have nice hardware In fact most of my time nowdays is reading up on my next purchase for my gamming needs, but I am starting to question if its money well spent when I am bored of gamming.

On a side note I have been enjoying playing my wii with my son

unplug your internet from your pc, maybe a month or so, play single player in that time, by the time that you plug your cable back in, you will be gagging for some online fps action.

i havnt had net for over a month now on my main rig, im crying in wait for css again, i cant even remember any maps or anything :(

Yeah thats true, I remember when I was without the net for a couple of months, I ended up hammering quakeworld bots everynight and making my own maps and stuff, couldn't wait to get back online!

I am sick of WoW now to the point where I quit, and came back to it. Now though I can't really find any game to replace it. I enjoy CS, BF2, BF2142 etc but I can't play them for that long without getting bored with them. So I have a simular problem to you :p

no all I would miss is the internet not gamming

I have just played Fortress Forever for and hr and am loving it, juts a shame I'm up at 5 or I would play some more.

I have a feeling it might be that I am too Tired to get into my gamming at the moment.

up at five, work until 1630 then gym till 1800 time i have my dinner and sit down to game its like 1900-1930

well thats why then, your only giveing your self a minor time to play games

dont play during the week, just browse the web, and at the weekends, spend a couple of hours gameing, that way your body isnt forcing you to get stuck in before time runs out.

I'm not bored of gaming, but find it frustrating that I don't have the time any more to do it justice.

I'm 34 now, about to get married, and living with my fiance has curtailed my free time something chronic. From the time I got my Spectrum back in '83, I've been a pretty intense gamer and reader of books.

That's now out the window - I have a backlog to play and read that's all rather depressing. Now I barely manage an hour in Call Of Juarez before I have to go to sleep.

I never realised how lucky I was as a kid, getting home from school or at the weekend having endless hours to spend on Championship Manager (original on the ST!) or Xcom for instance.

For those of you who are younger and have plenty of free time on your hands..enjoy it while you can! Life eventually takes it all away. I've not even had a kid yet..someone tell me it's not all downhill from here. :-)

I cant seem to get into any of my games at moment, I have been a big pc gamer since 97 and pretty much all my spare times in the evenings was playing fps games but i'm just bored of them all. I really want to be still playing but cannot find the motivation to play anything longer than 15 mins !

anyone else suffer from this? How do I rekindle my love for my shiny new pc ?

Suffer? This is a good thing surely - gaming is a fundamental waste of time, sure do it if it makes you happy, but if it doesn't great! You have more free time to do something more productive.

If it makes you happy then it isn't a fundamental waste of time, at all. That's what life is all about, being happy.

buy a wii, its a different style of gaming altogether.
play more sociable, with friends in same room?

get a girlfriend. lol

Nobody has mentioned sims. Try some proper simulations (really put you to sleep). Joking aside, Flight Sim X with the right kit (TrackIR, X52 Pro) is brilliant and you don't feel guilty putting the hours into it as you actually learn something useful to boot. Alternatively try some racing sims, again great fun with a proper wheel and you can get in to the whole telemetry thing if that takes your fancy.

i like the fact that when im not gameing (found that in the last several months its gone from a lot to no more than 5 hours a week) i have re built a lot of friendships that i lost track of a while ago... which sounds sad, but its true, i remember i used to chill with loads of my mates on monday nights out on town (couple of bars down here do £1 per pint night) but WoW ruined that for me for 2 years.

in a way, the lack of gameing has made my life much more fun lol, because when i do play a game, i appreciate it a lot more because ive had to earn the time to play it, rather than just wake up and play away because i had nothing better to do.
